Oz, The Great And Powerful : The Story Of Humanity

Yes, this will be some of my thoughts and a little review about the newest Disney's movie, Oz The Great And Powerful. Enjoy! :)

Film ini dimulai dengan sedikit kisah tentang seorang pesulap yang charming but selfish, bernama Oscar Diggs (James Franco). Oscar sendiri bekerja di sebuah sirkus keliling kecil. Ditemani oleh asisten setianya bernama Frank yang sering kali diperlakukan tidak adil oleh si Pesulap sendiri. Sebenarnya Oscar memiliki satu impian dimana suatu saat dia bisa menjadi seseorang yang hebat dan semua orang mengelu-elukan namanya. Namun sifat egois dan liciknya membuat semua itu sulit terjadi. Then suddenly a flip of card appear, setelah terjebak dalam suatu tornado yang bisa membuatnya mati, Oscar mendarat di sebuah negeri magis nan indah bernama, Oz.

Si pesulap ini pun segera disambut oleh seorang penyihir super cantik bernama Theodora (Mila Kunis) yang sangat bahagia melihat kedatangan Oscar karena sebuah ramalan yang mengatakan bahwa akan ada seorang penyihir hebat (The Greatest Wizard) bernama sama seperti negeri Oz yang jatuh dari langit dan akan menyelamatkan negeri Oz dari penyihir jahat (wicked witch). Dimulai lah petualangan si "Wizard " gadungan ini dalam menumpas si penyihir jahat. Namun setelah dia bertemu si penyihir jahat, ternyata malah pihak yang selama ini dianggap baik actually they're the bad guy and vice cersa. Jadi di film ini sesuai dengan taglinenya, Si Pesulap, Oscar Diggs akan menjadi sesorang yang lebih baik lewat kejadian-kejadian di negeri ajaib Oz dan menemukan bagian hebat dirinya yang selama ini dicari-cari.

Nggak Cuma terhibur dengan indahnya visualisasi negeri Oz tapi banyak juga line-line yang diucapkan para karakternya bisa membuat bibir tertarik untuk tersenyum. Jadi overall film ini worth it untuk dibela-belain bayar lumayan mahal untuk nonton 3D :) Desain visual yang amazing, jajaran cast yang oke plus cerita yang nggak membosankan, pantes aja di minggunya yang pertama pada pemutaran worldwide, Oz udah berada di posisi pertama Box office amerika menggeser Jack, The Giant Slayer. Apalagi bisa ngeliatin wajah ganteng James Franco buat yang cewek-cewek atau mandangin tiga wajah flawless penyihir negeri Oz yang bikin melted buat para cowok (Evanora, you're my favorite!) LOL

Banyak yang nonton film ini hanya sekedar hiburan imajinasi, just it, nothing more but after all i consider this movie is like the story of humanity. We can be very deceiving sometimes, and we are selfish. Just think, how many times you don't wanna share you're favorite ice cream? How many times that you wanna take more than giving more? For me Oscar Diggs makes me reailze something. His life story is actually like our life. We start from scratch, we are nothing but greatness seekers. We wanna do all things we can to be on top, even if it's has to sacrifice our beloved. Then comes the "conflict". Wise man said one time, "we can only be a better man after we're going through our great obstacles". So, after this "conflict" suddenly we realize, we can do more than that. We start to realize that we are human. We're imperfect. So it's just the way it is should be when sometimes we do make mistakes. This one i quote from The Holy Quran verses, this is don't exactly what it says, but it goes something like this, "every man made equally good and bad. Every man has the opportunities to build the goodness all over his life and become (or considered as) a good man, or a man can choose to follow their lust and wickedness the fall into their deepest darkness and become a bad man."

You see, after all there are no bad human but only a man that choose the wrong path. :)

In the end everyone of us can be our own Wizard of Oz, we can find our greatness if we want to.
